Because Healing Starts With Feeling Safe
MySuperbills founder Anjali Prakash on meeting Dr. Sneha Gazi, founder of Sneha Physical Therapy, who chose to practice out-of-network so pelvic floor therapy patients could have a full hour, privacy and a visit that moves at their pace. Out-of-network care is not only about price. Sometimes it is about how care is designed.
Today I met Dr. Sneha Gazi, founder of Sneha Physical Therapy, and she gave me one of the clearest explanations I’ve heard for why a provider chooses to practice out-of-network. For her, it was about having the freedom to give patients the time and privacy they need.

Pelvic floor therapy can be an extraordinarily vulnerable experience. Patients may be talking about bladder or bowel issues, pelvic pain, sex, pregnancy and childbirth. Many people have a hard time discussing these topics in the first place. Depending on the treatment, a patient may need to undress, and the appointment may include an external or internal pelvic-floor examination. They need time to get dressed afterward. They may have questions. They may simply need a minute.
Dr. Gazi knew early in her career that she wanted to build a practice where feeling safe was part of the foundation for healing. She wanted to spend a full hour with one patient, build trust and let the visit move at the patient’s pace. She didn’t want unnecessary staff moving in and out of the room or patients feeling rushed through something so personal. The in-network reimbursement structure did not give her the flexibility to practice that way. After graduating with her doctorate, she built Sneha Physical Therapy as a private-pay practice rather than entering the traditional insurance-based model.
There was just one problem: helping patients actually use the out-of-network benefits they may have.
When I told her there is now an easier way for patients to submit and track those claims, she was genuinely happy. We often talk about out-of-network healthcare as if the only question is price. Sometimes the story is care design. And when treatment involves putting yourself in such a vulnerable position, time, privacy and trust aren’t luxuries.
They’re part of the care.
At MySuperbills, we don’t want patients spending their evenings learning how to become their own insurance biller. We want to be part of the care journey, too.
